From Uni Cravings to a Community of Food Lovers

Hey, I’m Zain — the founder of Food Plug.

The idea for this app started during my time at King’s College London. After lectures, my mates and I were always looking for a decent spot to eat. Being in the heart of Central London, we had too many choices — and ironically, that made it harder to choose.

Other food apps? Useless. Everything looked the same. Fake reviews, old photos, and no sense of the actual vibe meant we’d often give up and settle for a Tesco meal deal.

That’s when I knew there had to be a better way.

I built Food Plug to solve that exact problem. It’s a map-based app that shows real restaurant recommendations from real people — every review is human-checked. You can save spots you like, browse vibe-checked pins, or use the slot machine to randomly discover somewhere nearby. No more decision fatigue.

Best of all? The app is powered by you. Leave reviews, request pins, and share the best food spots in your area.
